What is the VHS?
The Volkshochschule Frankfurt am Main is the biggest provider of courses for adults in the Rhein-Main area. As a municipal college, partially subsidised by the City of Frankfurt, we provide courses in many subject areas such as creative skills, health, sport, languages, computing, business & social skills, leisure and self -development.
Our courses range from those that help you develop a hobby (eg. painting, sculpture, pottery, cookery, photography, drama …) to those that help promote fitness and good health (eg. running, exercising, dance, yoga, massage…) to those that can help you in your career (eg. languages, computing, office training, business & management skills …). While many courses are of course held in German, we also offer a wide range of courses and events in English (VHS speaks English).
Whatever your age, if you want to get that dream job, secure a place at university, or just want to do something for pleasure, then its time to take a closer look at our Volkshochschule programme. Why not learn a new skill or take up a new interest and at the same time meet a new group of friends?
Our courses run during the day, in the evenings and at weekends. We continually enrol students of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds on our courses which are held at centres throughout Frankfurt. With over 3,000 courses from Accountancy to Zen to pick from there's bound to be something for just about everyone.
